We take the content of our platform seriously and have the following guidelines for reviewing content violations.
On top of of our TERMS for flag removals, we have the following content guidelines to maintain useful content for the shopper community.

July 2024 - updated content guidelines to include removal of content regarding reviews deemed to be 'AI-generated' and reviews that cause spikes due to global events in the supply chain outside of a brand.
- Spam: Reviews with irrelevant, repetitive, or nonsensical text are removed.
- Dangerous Content: We may not accept reviews involving regulated products that pose risks, such as firearms, tobacco, or regulated drugs. Reviews that instruct on or depict dangerous and/or illegal activities are not allowed.
- Personal Information: Any review containing personal details like phone numbers, email addresses, URLs, or sensitive personal information is removed to protect privacy.
- Offensive Content: Reviews with obscene, offensive language or content that depicts violence, serious injury, or death are removed. We also do not tolerate defamation, harassment, or personal attacks.
- Conflict of Interest: Reviews must be unbiased and genuine. Paid or inauthentic reviews, and those by individuals with a vested interest, are removed.
- Illegal Content: We remove any reviews containing or linking to unlawful content, such as illegal drugs, counterfeit goods, or unlicensed weapons.
- Malware and Phishing: Reviews linking to harmful software or phishing are removed to protect users and infrastructure.
- Intellectual Property Violations: Reviews that infringe copyrights, trademarks, or contain plagiarism are not allowed.
- Inappropriate Content: Sexually explicit reviews, especially those exploiting minors, are removed, and serious cases are reported to law enforcement and the NCMEC.
- Hate Speech: We do not permit reviews that advocate against people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
- Promotional Content: We remove reviews that promote unrelated products, websites, or services.
- Irrelevant Discussions: Reviews should focus on first-hand experiences with the website; off-topic reviews, including political or social issues, are removed.
- Impersonation and Duplicates: Reviews from impersonators or duplicates across different feeds or domains are not permitted.
- Low Quality: Incomplete, poorly formatted, or gibberish reviews are removed. We also ensure that review links are functional and lead to actual review pages.
- AI-generated: content deemed AI-generated may be removed from the system under certain circumstances
- Unforeseen Global Issues: reviews due to unforeseen temporary and uncontrollable global events such as natural disasters, acts of God, war, or significant disruptions in the supply chain may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
Our system employs both automated tools and expert human review to ensure compliance. While machine-learning algorithms handle basic checks, our trained specialists deal with complex or sensitive issues requiring nuanced understanding.
Violations of our policies may lead to content disapproval, warnings, or account suspensions, depending on the severity and frequency of the infractions. We take the enforcement of our policies seriously to maintain a safe and trustworthy platform for both merchants and users.
